I have been a California licensed general contractor since 1977 (currently inactive), and have held a solar speciality license since 1978 (currently inactive). Since 1980, I have worked with in collaboration with higher education institutions (HEIs), civil society organizations and private industry to develop projects ranging from energy efficient low-income and affordable housing, non-profit medical facilities, and energy efficiency and renewable energy (EERE). I have constructed EERE projects across the U.S. and the developing world in collaboration with the White House (Clinton Administration), the United Nations and the World Bank Group..
Since 2007, I have been tasked by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) to establish the Renewable Nations Institute as a Work-College consortium to accelerate the rate at which the global education sector can collectively develop an energy services workforce with the capacity to transition the world economy to reliance primarily upon energy efficiency and renewable energy (EERE) technologies. |
